( This post includes gifted products and a discount code from Brainbalms, opinions are my own)

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind, from having trouble falling asleep or waking up several times during the night, to being irritable and on edge. It has been a long time since I had bad insomniac nights like the ones I currently have and I  don't know the exact reasons for this change, but I am sure it has something to do with the current situation of the world and the unexpected long period we’ve been dealing with it all, not to mention the negative news we are bombarded with daily.
I luckily got sent some products from Brainbalms some weeks ago, they are products that help with sleep and mood, and they are a godsend! I am going to talk you through the products and how they’ve been helping me restore my sleep pattern and how they affected my mood and stress level.(there is a discount code of 15% at the end of the post!)

Brainbalms

Brainbalms

Brainbalms products are made of 100% organic ingredients, they are vegan friendly, with no artificial fragrance, no paraben, no GMO and no mineral oil, they are made of plant bioactive and created by Dr Nicolette who is a pharmacognosist.

the brand has two ranges of products, a stay alert range and the one that I tried is the sleep better range. I use the Sleep pulse-point oil any time of the day, I bring it with me to the office and I always find myself grabbing it from my bag whenever I feel overwhelmed and stressed, its small size is perfect to carry around with me to use whenever I need it, I also put it on my wrist and behind my ears before going to bed and I am not exaggerating when I say it is magical, it makes me sleepy within minutes. As for the Sleep facial treatment I use it before bed with my evening skincare, it smells good and sinks into my skin well, so it’s a “kill two birds with one stone” kind of product, it calms my mind and replenishes my skin. Last but not least, I tried the Calm intense oil atomiser which smells heavenly, it has chamomile, neroli, melissa and lavender as bioactive, I mainly use it before bed on my neck and wrists but also I love spraying it on my pillow and bedsheets, it instantly makes me feel calmer and relaxed.

Overall, I loved using these three products and have seen great results in my sleep and my mood in general. I have better nights of sleep and I feel calm during the day. I also do meditate every morning and I try to include journaling as much as I can into my daily routine to help get my thoughts out my mind before bed and I highly recommend integrating these simple but effective steps into your days too, as they take only a few minutes to do but they help put you in a good mental state and ensure a night of better quality sleep.
This is my great experience using plant bioactive products from Brainbalms and I recommend visiting the Brainbalms website to learn more about their products and the brand in general. the brand is committed to giving 5% of its profits to charities that look after our minds.
You can use the discount code SPRING for 15% off your purchase from the Brainbalm website.

(This post includes gifted items, all opinions are my own)
I'm a sucker for lifestyle items, give me a cardholder for my birthday and I'm over the moon, a notebook? A mug? Maybe a pair of simple socks? Yes, I'll take one of each, please! In fact, my hobbies include collecting mugs among other things of course, but I literally can't stop buying them (just me?).

Hello and welcome or welcome back here, I hope you’re doing well in these bleak days, I’m here to share what I’ve been up to in March ( see previous months here), and as you can guess, I haven’t been up to much as I stayed the majority of time in the house!

I loved writing the first one of these post series if you haven’t seen it yet you can find it here. I think these posts are ones I’m going to get back to years from now and reflect on memories, it is a good way to document everything from my month, my favourite things, thoughts …

I've been thinking of doing some kind of series on my blog that will make my posting schedule somehow consistent but also make a great sort of diary on my blog and here came the idea of sharing pictures, bits like museum tickets or postcards….(will see where this is going to take us!) I randomly take throughout the month and write a small segment about the main events of the so-called month.

I think an update on the bedroom is overdue!
In today's post, I'm sharing the before and after of the bedroom which is not much of a difference, to be honest! keep in mind that the house has just been built and we did some changes in this room afterwards.

I love a simple minimal home interior, white walls and earthy toned furniture, and this is exactly what I'm currently trying to create with my new bedroom. As I mentioned here, I'm in the middle of doing my bedroom, and I'm nowhere close to finishing it but I tried to make it look and feel as "me" as possible, by sticking to a neutral colour palette and adding little touches that represent my personality and style.

If you're a regular visitor on here, you'd know that I'm not a fan of makeup (wrote about it here) but I'm all for skincare. I introduced some beauty tools to my skincare routine for over a month and I'm enjoying that extra step.

Since the beginning of this year, my health has been going downhill, I only ever felt okay for a morning or so and then got ill again. I was so frustrated that the year has started in this way, you know everyone is sharing their goals and intentions for the new year when all your body and mind are enabling you to do is lay in bed and do the best you can to not feel worse the next day! at least I got to write this post from the comfort of my bed (seeing the silver lining heh?!)
Being constantly ill these last two weeks can only be the last way my body chose to alert me, it's screaming "heeeelp" and forcing me to listen to it this time. It is also what made me realise how badly I was taking care of my health and not taking a step back from everything to just relaaax.

I’m in the middle of doing my bedroom from zero, so I thought I’d share with you the whole process on here. Expect lots of DIY projects, painting, and a neutral palette .
For today’s post I’m sharing some of the Pinterest pins that are going to be my inspiration board for the bedroom. I'm going for a boho, rustic and scandi vibe, with a built in wardrobe and a floor bed (maybe!?).

*this post contains gifted items ( Godwits backpack) ,all opinions are 100% my own.

Lately, I've been working from coffee shops a lot, especially on weekends when I work on side projects or on my blog. My house is a total mess currently as I've just moved in and I'm redoing the bedroom, so it's a tad hard for me to get work from home and let's face it, it's always nice to have a change of scenery while sipping a hot Chai latte while getting work done (wich usually ends up as me people watching and getting zero work done!).
On days like these, I like to have all the work essentials and by essentials I mean bringing my whole desk with me .

As someone who doesn't wear makeup (see post >> here <<), I try my best to keep my skin looking its best, other than the sunken under eyes that I can do nothing about, I've been managing things pretty well. And as nothing stays the way it is forever, back in January, I've been blessed with a bunch of outrageous spots due to a bad allergy reaction to a dipping sauce ( which by the way was so delicious but equally EVIL). It was the first time my skin looked that bad and ngl it's affected my self-confidence on a high level.

If you've read my post about my skincare routine >> here << you'd know that I try my best to avoid using products that are loaded with chemicals and generally lean toward natural or less nasty products.

At the beginning of this month I took some days off social media mainly for three reasons, to celebrate Eid with my family away from any social media distraction, and because I was feeling uninspired to post anything on Instagram and on my blog, and finally, I was shocked when I discovered that I spend an average of eight hours scrolling through my insta feed. Little did I know that the planned three days are going to extend to a week and then two weeks...

With the weather being this nice and sunny, I inspired me to write a list of the things I want to do during this hot couple of weeks. I thought I’d share it with you on here, it’s nothing extravagant but as I have no plans to travel this summer, a little activity here and there will keep the  I’m excited to thick everything off the list and get out of my comfort zone!

DIY CLAY MASK

One of my favourite skincare steps is Facemasking! I love the rituals of putting a face mask on, waiting for it to do its magic and finally the magic reveal moment, I find the whole process so therapeutic.Making my own face mask has been a thing for me since I can remember, I make them from what I have in the kitchen cupboard, the fridge ...

Hello, long time no blog post! but I'm back after what feels like decades to fill you in with what has been going on in my life and rambling a bit about some blog changes I'm about to make.

So  firstly, I've started a new internship last month (yes another one) hence the lack of content over here and on Instagram; I'm quite enjoying it but I feel exhausted all the time, I barely have time to eat when I'm back home, catch up a little bit on what I missed OTI and sleep. and yes I'm becoming that gal who is over the moon by Friday and who posts #TGIF on twitter.

learning - skills - online course

It's been now nearly two years since I graduated from university, I did a couple of internships and had months in between where I was doing nothing in particular. I miss a lot about it;the fresh start each semester, the library sessions, new stationery at the beginning of the year (who don't?)...but on the top of the list, there are two things that I was missing the most: firstly,a schedule AKA having a structure to my day, and secondly, learning.
As I'm a very curious soul and I always love to discover new skills...I'm still learning a few things in my free time, now that the internet has everything and anything you can imagine, making the most of it to learn and grow as a person sounds like the perfect idea.

As much as I'm not a makeup fan (read about it >>here<<=), I really love skincare. Everything about it, taking that 10mins in the evening to take care of my skin and give it some special attention, going through all the steps from cleansing to moisturising passing by exfoliating and oh did I mention my favourite step? masking of course!
